** National Gay and Lesbian Task Force **
Recently, California Secretary of State Debra Bowen announced that the initiative to pass a constitutional amendment to ban marriage for same sex couples in California has qualified for the November ballot.

The initiative would amend the California constitution to only recognize marriages "between a man and a woman."

Our challenge is clear. Those who oppose the dignity of our love and relationships are determined to deny us the fundamental freedom, fairness and equality we have worked so hard to achieve. We must get Californians to vote "No," and it all starts with you.

Join our coalition at Equality For All to fight this initiative. Click here and sign the pledge."Vow To Vote No" today!

** Change to Win **
The time has come for a new trade and globalization model - one that ensures economic security here at home while offering opportunities for sustainable development in countries around the world.

The TRADE Act is a new bill just introduced in Congress that would make this a reality by moving from the broken, discredited "free" trade model to a more equitable fair trade system. It would articulate the outcomes that any future trade deals will be expected to produce, and require that existing trade deals be renegotiated to remove their inequities.

Tell your Members of Congress to support the TRADE Act by signing on as co-sponsors today!

** Public Citizen **
After years of fighting against expansion of the failed NAFTA/ WTO model, we're thrilled to announce a new trade bill we can all be for.

The Trade Reform, Accountability, Development and Employment (TRADE) Act, cosponsored by fair trade champions Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) and Rep. Mike Michaud (D-Maine), was introduced Wednesday with over 50 House and Senate original cosponsors! This landmark legislation sets forth in concrete, detailed terms a progressive vision for good trade agreements in the future and criteria to renegotiate existing failed pacts like NAFTA and the WTO.

Please write your representative and senators and urge them to cosponsor the TRADE Act today.

** NARAL Pro-Choice America **
In 1970, this fundamental belief spurred a bipartisan coalition in Congress to set up a new program for low-income Americans, called the Title X ("ten") family-planning program.

Title X provides vital services, including pap smears, mammograms, and birth control to five million women and men every year. Family-planning services prevent unintended pregnancies and thus reduce the need for abortion. By investing in preventive health care, Title X saves taxpayers money in the long run.

Now, as our country faces a health-care crisis, anti-choice ideologues in Congress are trying to deny women access to this successful and proven program.

Click here to tell your member of Congress to fight back and fully fund Title X.

** True Majority **

Remember January 2001? Those were the good old days before George Bush and Dick Cheney took office. At the time, gas cost just a dollar eighty-seven a gallon. And now? $3? $3.50? Even four dollars for a gallon of gas.

The cost of driving to work and flying to visit family keeps going up. Meanwhile, Exxon-Mobil made more profits last year than any corporation in human history.

It's long past time for real energy independence in America and that starts by making sure oil companies pay their fair share.
