** Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance **
On April 9, Senator Bob Bennett (R-UT) introduced S. 2834, the Washington County Growth and Conservation Act of 2008. While in some ways this bill is better than Senator Bennett's 2006 version, which you helped to defeat, it still contains some of the same damaging provisions for southwestern Utah that would perpetuate bad precedents for all future public lands bills.

Once again we need your help! Please let your Senators know that S. 2834 is bad for Utah wilderness!

You can participate, too! Send a message to your members of Congress asking them to support AIDS programs that work. Tell Congress to support AIDS programs that work.

Last week, African dock workers, trade unionists, human rights activists, and religious leaders joined together to stop the delivery of weapons from China to Zimbabwe.

As dock workers refused to unload the arms – China was forced to recall the ship carrying them because no country was willing to receive it.

This heroic stand by the people in southern Africa — they weren't going to allow arms into a country that planned to use them against its own people — sent a strong message to China that their weapons are not always welcome. Countries of the world, including the U.S., had no choice but to join the people and repudiate the arms shipment. And China had no choice but to yield to international pressure by recalling the ship.

We have seen what is possible when the people take action — leaders will follow. We need to do the same thing for Chinese arms going to Sudan.

In Zimbabwe, Chinese weapons are used by government forces to crush political opposition by terror. In Sudan, Chinese arms are used to kill civilians and destroy lives in Darfur.

Join us in telling the U.S. government to do for Sudan what they did for Zimbabwe: call on Beijing to halt arms sales to Sudan.

Yesterday, Governor Dean sent around our second national television ad.

It's one of the most powerful television spots Americans will see this year. It's simple, and it's brutally honest. It rocked the McCain campaign, because they know they'll spend the every day through November dealing with the fallout.

This is the ad the Republican National Committee is working around the clock to stop, even threatening legal action against television stations that air this spot. That's how worried about it they are.

If you haven't seen it yet, watch it now, and send it to everyone you know:

** Human Rights First **
Ten years ago, famous Guatemalan human rights defender Bishop Juan Gerardi was murdered. Bishop Gerardi was killed just days after publicly releasing a report that documented more than 200,000 killings during Guatemala's 36 year civil war. The report laid blame on the Guatemalan government for over 90 per cent of the conflict's human rights violations.

While individuals have been convicted for the murder of Bishop Gerardi, there has been no justice for the victims of Guatemala's 422 documented massacres. None of the former military or police officials allegedly responsible for committing the worst atrocities during the conflict have been held accountable.

Through his courageous efforts to reveal the truth, Bishop Gerardi left Guatemala an important legacy. However, without action by the authorities, that legacy will never be fully realized.

Urge the Guatemalan Attorney-General to immediately act on the criminal petitions filed by victims almost a decade ago. Those petitions allege that former police and military leaders committed crimes against humanity and genocide during the civil war.

** NRDC **
The 2007 energy bill includes a provision that prevents federal agencies from contracting to purchase liquid coal and other "dirty fuels," such as tar sands and oil shale, that produce more global warming pollution than conventional gasoline. But now dirty fuel supporters in Congress have introduced legislation that would repeal this important provision that will help fight global warming, and energy companies are poised to market dirty fuels to the government at the first opportunity. The Air Force, for instance, is already pushing for a new liquid coal plant on its Malmstrom base in Montana.

Liquid coal produces twice the global warming pollution of conventional gasoline. Relying on liquid coal fuel also would increase the harmful effects of coal mining, which means more mining in the Rockies and more mountaintop removal mining in Appalachia. Investing in liquid coal is also financially unsound: while even under the most optimistic scenarios liquid coal could replace no more than 10 percent of our oil use, these plants would cost over four billion dollars each to build.

Tell your representative not to reverse important protections against dirty fuels.

The West Tavaputs Plateau in Utah, which includes Desolation Canyon, Jack Canyon, and Nine Mile Canyon, has it all: spectacular canyons and mesa tops, a diverse range of vegetation, rivers, a ruggedness that truly allows enjoyment of wildness and solitude, and one of the greatest concentrations of rock art in the world.

This is all under threat as the BLM is proposing to approve a massive natural gas drilling plan that can harm these amazing places and values unless we act now.

The BLM is currently wrapping up its public commenting stage on the West Tavaputs Plateau Natural Gas Full Field Development Plan Draft EIS, which allows drilling more than 800 new natural gas wells among rugged canyons and internationally recognized rock art. This is your chance to tell the BLM that you don't want to see this wild and important Utah environment spoiled. Comments must be submitted by May 1, 2008.

Recently, the New York Times exposed a secret Pentagon campaign to infiltrate the media with pro-war propaganda.

The scheme reaches all the way to the Bush White House, where top officials recruited dozens of "military analysts" to spread favorable views of the war via every major news channel -- without revealing they were working from Pentagon scripts and often lobbying for major military contractors.

Spreading "covert propaganda" is illegal under federal law. Congress must investigate these military pundits and their ties to the Bush administration, defense contractors and our national news media.

Right-win-nut pastor John Hagee says Katrina was New Orleans' fault. Old and senile McCain sought out, and embraces, Hagee's support. MoveOn members are trying to deliver a petition to old and senile McCain in New Orleans just a few hours from now: will you sign?

Here's the background: Old and senile McCain wants America to see him as a compassionate, mainstream politician. So he's going to New Orleans today for a photo-op in the 9th Ward.

But he's still trying to shore up his right-wing base—so this past Sunday, he again welcomed the support of right-wing-nut evangelist John Hagee, who said "Hurricane Katrina was, in fact, the judgment of God against the city of New Orleans."

MoveOn members in New Orleans have organized an emergency rally outside old and senile McCain's event today. With the media looking on, they'll try to deliver our petition asking him to stop pandering to right-wing bigots like Hagee. They'll announce an up-to-the-minute number of signatures, and we'll have a real impact if we can say that hundreds of thousands have signed in only a few hours. Clicking here will add your name.

** Better World Campaign **
The U.S. will spend $192 billion this year in Iraq and Afghanistan alone, on top of regular defense spending. By contrast, the United Nations is helping bring stability to 17 conflict areas around the world—from Sudan to Lebanon to Haiti—all for a budget of less than $8 billion. Despite consistently supporting and voting for these peacekeeping missions at the UN, the U.S. isn’t keeping its promise to UN peacekeepers around the world.

The President’s budget request this year falls more than $600 million short of fully funding UN peacekeeping missions.

The U.S. already began the year $2.8 billion in debt to the UN. A debt of this enormity should not go unnoticed, and, thanks largely to your efforts, it hasn’t. Over 3,000 of you have taken action by sending letters to your members of Congress urging them to fully fund UN peacekeeping and to clear our debts. But we still need your help.

If you haven’t already, send a letter to your elected officials telling them to fully fund UN peacekeeping so we don’t have to go it alone in the world.

** NARAL Pro-Choice America **

Even as the teen STD crisis deepens, the Bush administration continues to funnel millions in taxpayer dollars to dangerous and discredited "abstinence-only" programs that replace lessons about birth control with lies about contraceptive failure.

Now that the House of Representatives has returned to pro-choice leadership, Congress is finally taking action and I hope you do, too.

** VoteVets **

** The Wilderness Society **
With 126,000 new oil and gas wells projected to be built across our western public lands over the next 20 years, it's up to us to ensure that areas rich in wilderness and wildlife are protected.

The Wilderness Society has been working locally and with WildAlert members like you to curtail drilling plans in areas with special wildlife and wilderness values. The Wyoming Range is just such a place.

A rugged chain of mountains in the western part of the state, the Wyoming Range is prime habitat for moose, deer and elk. It's a beloved spot for blue-ribbon fishing and other recreation. This place is so special that Wyoming Sen. John Barrasso has introduced legislation to protect it from leasing.

But the Forest Service is considering whether to lease these public lands to oil and gas drilling before Congress can act to protect them. Please take action today and ask the agency to withdraw the proposed leases in the Wyoming Range.

Multiculturalism is a basic American concept. We value the beliefs, traditions, customs, arts, history and folklore of the diverse cultures reflected throughout our nation. All this is being put at risk in Arizona, where last week the Appropriations Committee passed an amendment to a routine homeland security bill, SB 1108 that would prohibit students at the state’s public universities and community colleges from organizing groups based on race (ie: groups such as MEChA, the Black Business Students Association, Native Americans United, etc.)

According to newspaper reports, Rep. John Kavanagh, (R-Scottsdale), a supporter of the measure called these campus organizations, "'self-defeating' and 'self-destructive' for students."

If you live in Arizona, e-mail your representatives immediately as well as the Speaker of the House. If you live outside Arizona, please e-mail the Arizona Speaker of the House today and let him know the eyes of the nation are on Arizona.

Please take action today. This bill could reach the Arizona House floor as early as this week.

Already in 2008 we've seen the largest recall in U.S. history from the Hallmark/Westland meat plant, and this isn't an isolated incident. Whether it was spinach, ground beef, peanut butter, or frozen pot pies, last year was the year of recalls. Throughout all of these recalls consumers had no way of finding out where these recalled products were sold or distributed. Thankfully, we have an opportunity to change that.

Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro has introduced a bill which would require the USDA to tell us which stores and schools received recalled meat.

We've got a good chance of getting this passed, but we need to gain as much support for the bill as possible. Can you ask your member of Congress to become a co-sponsor of this important bill?

By June 30th, the federal government will make one of the most important decisions in conservation history. If it declares the polar bear to be an "endangered" species, the decision will set off an unprecedented worldwide discussion on global warming.

It will all happen -- or not -- by June 30th. Make it happen. Sign our petition today and pass it on.

** Change to Win **
The incompetent boobs in the Department of Homeland Security is proposing using Social Security "no-match" letters for immigration enforcement. Every year, employers report their employees' Social Security numbers to the government as part of the process of paying their payroll taxes. The Social Security Administration (SSA) checks those numbers against their database; if they don't match, a so-called "no-match" letter is sent by SSA to the employer.
That works well enough when the issue is just checking the accuracy of Social Security's records. But now DHS is proposing to use this system for something far more critical -- identifying whether a worker is in this country legally. And the Social Security database just isn't accurate enough to be used reliably for that purpose.

Why isn't it? The Inspector General of the Social Security Administration estimates that there are more than 17 million errors in the database -- each of which would trigger a "no-match" letter. And more than 70% of those errors are in the records of legal, native-born American workers.

If you're one of those workers, when the "no-match" letter arrives, it's up to you and your employer -- not DHS or Social Security -- to resolve the "discrepancy". And if you can't get it resolved in time, your employer is required to fire you or risk significant penalties.
If DHS goes forward with this plan, it would cause thousands of people to be fired on an unverified hunch that an error in a database in Washington means that you're not a legal, authorized worker.

The Department of Homeland Security needs to hear from you that this is unacceptable. Tell DHS to Say No to No-Match

The February elections in Pakistan marked a new beginning following martial law, demonstrations, and the assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. Since then the new government has taken some important steps to reverse the damage to the rule of law, and specifically towards reinstatement of the dozens of senior judges dismissed by President Musharraf.

However, the new government still has work to do. President Musharraf is strongly opposed to reinstatement of the judges, and internal disagreements within the new government may cause additional delays. The nascent government needs to know that the international community, including the United States government, supports the progress so far and hopes to see truly independent courts.

The Pakistani government will address the question of the judges this week, so please act quickly to urge your representatives in Congress to sign on to a letter to the Prime Minister expressing support for the lawyers' movement and for initiatives to restore an independent judiciary and rule of law in Pakistan.

If you've been to the grocery store lately, you've noticed that food prices are rising. After years of remaining relatively stable, prices are being driven through the roof by a convergence of circumstances.

This phenomenon affects food prices worldwide, and it presents a major problem for poor people in developing countries. Just think about it: if you spend 50–80 percent of your income on food, then the more prices rise, the less food you can afford.

The current price increases are causing widespread hunger for millions of poor people. Yet US food aid policies require all food to be shipped halfway around the world, draining critical aid money on needless costs. Congress could change this policy in the coming weeks, and we need your action immediately.

Yesterday, President Bush finally decided to weigh in on global warming after seven years on the sideline. His speech came as the U.S. Senate is poised to vote on legislation that would put us on the path to a safer climate by ensuring significant near term reductions of global warming pollution. Unfortunately, the president’s suggestion that we delay any emission cuts until 2025 shows he would prefer to derail the Senate process than make a real contribution.
Please urge your senators to move beyond the president’s rhetoric by supporting strong global warming legislation.

** United Farm Workers **
Farm worker children are being put at daily risk of neurological and developmental damage due to four deadly organophosphate pesticides.
These toxic pesticides were derived from nerve gas developed during World War II. The four organophosphates at issue are methidathion, oxydemeton-methyl, methamidophos, and ethoprop and are primarily used in California on a wide variety of fruit, vegetable, and nut crops.
These toxic chemicals pose a danger to everyone, but especially to rural children and families when these four pesticides drift into schoolyards, outdoor play areas, and homes. The EPA has acknowledged the danger, but has done nothing to protect the public.

Please e-mail the EPA today and tell them to ban these four toxic pesticides immediately. Stop putting children's health at risk.

** True Majority **
Last week, ABC news broke a shocking story: Secretary of State Rice led meetings that explicitly authorized torture. 1 Last night, ABC had a chance to ask the Presidential candidates if they thought torture was acceptable in America. In case they didn't think of this idea themselves, we even ran an ad on the local ABC affiliate right after the debate in Philadelphia with quotes from their story and footage of the Secretary of State saying, "Torture and conspiracy to commit torture are crimes under US law".
But ABC didn't get the hint. Instead of asking the Democratic candidates about torture, the moderators, "dwelled entirely on specious and gossipy trivia that already has been hashed and rehashed".2 The mainstream media won't hold the Bush administration accountable, but we will.
Sign our petition demanding the Presidential candidates call on Rice to resign: http://www.CondiMustGo.com

** ACLU **
1) In a stunning admission to ABC news Friday night, President Bush declared that he knew his top national security advisers discussed and approved specific details of the CIA's use of torture. Bush reportedly told ABC, "I'm aware our national security team met on this issue. And I approved." Bush also defended the use of waterboarding.

The ACLU is calling on Congress to demand an independent prosecutor to investigate possible violations by the Bush administration of laws including the War Crimes Act, the federal Anti-Torture Act, and federal assault laws.
Take Action: Demand that your members of Congress reject torture by holding to account those responsible for approving and implementing these un-American policies.

2) Last May, the Supreme Court ruled in Ledbetter v. Goodyear that employees who have suffered years of pay discrimination cannot have their day in court if they don’t discover the discrimination within 180 days of their employer’s initial discriminatory pay decision.

The Ledbetter decision not only reversed years of employment law, it also ignored the realities of a workplace. Often employees don’t know what their co-workers are paid. Further, expecting that they learn that information within the first 180 days of a pay decision is unreasonable. Unless Congress intervenes, companies will be able to discriminate for years and unjustly profit from paying women, minorities, the elderly, and people with disabilities, as long as it keeps the discrimination secret for a few months.
The Fair Pay Restoration Act (S.1843), is now before the U.S. Senate. The time has come for the Senate to correct this wrong and let American workers keep their hard-earned dollars. Urge your Senators to support the Fair Pay Restoration Act!

In the wake of the Monkey King's admission to knowledge of torture, we've come to a historic moment where every American - and every Member of Congress - must take a stand.

Tell Congress to Impeach Bush and Cheney for Torture

** Humane Society **
The European Environment Commissioner has announced a plan to ban the trade in all seal products originating from inhumane hunts. This builds upon the historic declaration by the European parliament in 2006. If an EU-wide ban is enacted, the fashion houses serving the main markets for seal skins today -- China and Russia -- would be forced to stop, and millions of baby seals would be saved from cruel slaughter.

In the meantime, many nations have either banned seal product trade or announced their intentions to do so. They include: Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Croatia, Austria, Slovenia, Panama, Mexico, and the United States. Just the potential for an EU ban on seal products has saved thousands of seals already. Prices paid for seal skins this year have declined so much that most sealers have chosen to stay home.
Tell the EU that you strongly support a total ban on trade in seal products by signing the petition here.

Repairing the damage to our Constitution and our standing in the world will take years, but RIGHT NOW certain senators can stop more of President Bush's dangerous judicial nominees from getting lifetime seats on the federal courts.
As the Republican tantrum over unconfirmed nominees continues, key Democratic senators are starting to echo what we've been saying: in these months leading up to a presidential election, controversial nominees need not and should not be considered for confirmation. Hundreds of Bush judges are already doing plenty of damage to your rights and legal protections.
Tell senators on the Judiciary Committee to stand up to Bush and his Senate allies by invoking the well-established Senate tradition of not considering controversial judicial nominees in the months leading up to a presidential election.

** Leahy for US Senate **
First the Bush-Cheney Administration tried to bully the House into accepting its own deeply flawed FISA legislation. Then White House officials and Congressional Republicans refused to meet with us to hammer out a better bill. And then the President and his allies blocked our attempts to temporarily extend existing surveillance legislation -- incredibly blaming Democrats for their own efforts to let the legislation expire.
Despite all of this bullying, cajoling, and foot-dragging, we're proud that our House Democratic colleagues stood firm, refusing to water down the strong, balanced FISA bill that passed the House and is now on its way to the Senate.
Urge the Senate to support the House's strong and balanced FISA bill -- forward an email to your Senators now!

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers wants to build the world's largest hydraulic pumping plant in one of the most sparsely populated regions in the state of Mississippi.

In a throwback to another era and contrary to federal policy, the Corps would use the Yazoo Pumps to drain wetlands so agribusiness can intensify production to reap more farm subsidy payments.

The Yazoo Pumps project would waste $220 million in taxpayer money, drain and damage more than 200,000 acres of wetlands in the heart of the Mississippi River flyway and ruin some of the richest natural resources in the nation.

An EPA veto would put an end to this harmful plan. Send an email today! Help protect these precious Mississippi wetlands once and for all.

** Working Families **
Just about any way you look at it, runaway pay packages led CEOs to take on excessive risk and are one of the real causes of the mortgage crisis.

Too often, compensation programs encouraged top corporate executives to maximize short-term financial gains at the expense of long-term sustainability. In effect, boards of directors rewarded their CEOs for generating financial results that were often based on taking on irresponsible levels of subprime mortgage risk.

1) Click here to tell your representative and senators to help homeowners affected by the irresponsible corporate lending practices that led to the mortgage meltdown.

2) Click here to urge your senators to support giving shareholders a say on CEO pay.

For the first time, George W. Bush acknowledged that he knew his top national security advisers discussed and approved specific details of the CIA’s use of torture. “I’m aware that our national security team met on this issue and I approved,” he said. He also defended the use of waterboarding -- simulated drowning where the victim feels like they are about to die.

Congress should long ago have gotten to the bottom of which top officials approved, condoned and authorized U.S. involvement in torture. But, now that the President has admitted to a policy of top-down torture, the ACLU is calling on Congress to demand an independent prosecutor to investigate possible violations of the War Crimes Act, the federal Anti-Torture Act and federal assault laws.

Tell your members of Congress: Don’t look the other way on torture.

FYI: Old and senile McCain, 10 things to know about McCain

** Moveon.Org **
10 things you should know about John McCain (but probably don't):

1. John McCain voted against establishing a national holiday in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Now he says his position has "evolved," yet he's continued to oppose key civil rights laws.

2. According to Bloomberg News, McCain is more hawkish than Bush on Iraq, Russia and China. Conservative columnist Pat Buchanan says McCain "will make Cheney look like Gandhi."

3. His reputation is built on his opposition to torture, but McCain voted against a bill to ban waterboarding, and then applauded President Bush for vetoing that ban.

4. McCain opposes a woman's right to choose. He said, "I do not support Roe versus Wade. It should be overturned."

5. The Children's Defense Fund rated McCain as the worst senator in Congress for children. He voted against the children's health care bill last year, then defended Bush's veto of the bill.

6. He's one of the richest people in a Senate filled with millionaires. The Associated Press reports he and his wife own at least eight homes! Yet McCain says the solution to the housing crisis is for people facing foreclosure to get a "second job" and skip their vacations.

7. Many of McCain's fellow Republican senators say he's too reckless to be commander in chief. One Republican senator said: "The thought of his being president sends a cold chill down my spine. He's erratic. He's hotheaded. He loses his temper and he worries me."

8. McCain talks a lot about taking on special interests, but his campaign manager and top advisers are actually lobbyists. The government watchdog group Public Citizen says McCain has 59 lobbyists raising money for his campaign, more than any of the other presidential candidates.

9. McCain has sought closer ties to the extreme religious right in recent years. The pastor McCain calls his "spiritual guide," Rod Parsley, believes America's founding mission is to destroy Islam, which he calls a "false religion." McCain sought the political support of right-wing preacher John Hagee, who believes Hurricane Katrina was God's punishment for gay rights and called the Catholic Church "the Antichrist" and a "false cult."

10. He positions himself as pro-environment, but he scored a 0—yes, zero—from the League of Conservation Voters last year.

FYI: Disgusting Republican Pig Rep. McHenry (NC) calls U.S. soldier in Iraq a 'two-bit security guard.'

** Think Progress **

Your typical chickenhawk, repulsive republican, never made a sacrifice for my country GOP Pig Patrick McHenry (NC-10) talking about a US Soldier in the Green Zone:

We spent the night in the Green Zone, in the poolhouse of one of Saddam’s palaces. A little weird, I got to be honest with you. But I felt safe. And so in the morning, I got up early — not that I make this a great habit — but I went to the gym because I just couldn’t sleep and everything else. Well, sure enough, the guard wouldn’t let me in. Said I didn’t have the correct credentials.

It’s 5:00 in the morning. I haven’t had sleep. I was not very happy with this two-bit security guard. So you know, I said, “I want to see your supervisor.” Thirty minutes later, the supervisor wasn’t happy with me, they escort me back to my room. It happens. I guess I didn’t need to work out anyway.

Yet ANOTHER repulsican PIG who thinks they are exempt from the rules. Who the hell do you think you are pig? You and everyone else in your 10th Congressional district that voted for your sorry ass are disgusting, un-American pigs. I am sure the filth in that district and perhaps the state is proud of you, Pig McHenry.

Of course, the repulsive republican spin machine is ONLY NOW making claims that the Pig was talking about a "contractor" working as a "security guard" inside the green zone. VERY convenient don't you think when the people working for the Pig at his Office and the gop lemmings, who lie to protect their own, took a while to make this claim.

I have no reason to believe you Pig, nor the lemmings that are willing to lie to protect your sorry Pig Ass.

Watch the Video @ Think Progress and contact the Pig by calling his D.C. office. Of course, his e-mail is restricted to NC Residents.

FYI: Right-wing wacko news, Faux News whore O'Reilly obsessed with gay stuff

** Media Matters **

First up, we have your typical right-wing wacko and Faux News whore Bill O'Reilly being obsessed with anything that has to do with "gay stuff". I want to know why those on the right have this have this fetish about "gay stuff" all the time?

O'Reilly apparently still not relaxing "on all this gay stuff".

On Hannity & Colmes, Coulter again made Obama-Hitler comparison, said Clinton "would enjoy torturing" detainees.

The Bitch known as Ann Coulter still does not stay in the kitchen where she belongs. Never mind the fact it was the Monkey King Bush that has allowed torturing detainees because he thinks he's above the law.

Whore on MSNBC known as Joe Scarborough still panders to old and senile McCain.

Scarborough, Cameron failed to challenge McCain's false suggestion that Obama only recently proposed a "strike force" in Iraq.

And yet another example of old and senile McCain flip-flopping:

MSNBC, CBS political blogs note McCain's schedule for MLK anniversary, but fail to report prior opposition to MLK holiday.

Someone tell the Bitch Coulter to get to the kitchen and make us some pie.

And finally, we have CBS leaving out facts in their "news" reports:

CBS report on "mind-numbing" national debt made no mention of Republican-led Congress' years of deficit spending on Bush tax cuts, Iraq

Your 5 Minute Activist Links for April 2, 2008

** Defenders of Wildlife **
In its latest assault on America’s wild places, the Bush/Cheney Administration has proposed opening up more than 6 million acres of irreplaceable roadless backcountry in Idaho to logging, mining, and oil and gas exploration -- a move that would permanently damage vital habitat for grizzlies, wolves and other wildlife.
We have just a few days to help. The deadline for comments is Monday, April 7th, so please take action now to stop the Bush Administration from putting special interests over the public interest.

** Sierra Club **
The Teshekpuk Lake area in Alaska is one of the most important wetland complexes in the entire Arctic, supporting millions of migratory ducks and geese that winter in the lower 48. Now it's under the threat of the drill.
Please tell the Bureau of Land Management to keep Alaska's wildlife-rich Teshekpuk Lake protected!

** Union of Concerned Scientists **

Hybrid technology has the potential to provide us with cleaner, more fuel-efficient options in every vehicle class, as exemplified by the Ford Escape Hybrid, Honda Civic Hybrid, and Toyota Prius.
Yet GM continues to make that same mistake. Its new “two mode” hybrid SUVs, the Chevy Tahoe and GMC Yukon Hybrids, actually feature larger gasoline engines than most conventional versions of these models. The electric motor provides an additional power boost but only a modest gain in overall fuel economy.
General Motors has recently initiated an online program to open dialogue between consumers and the corporation. They want to hear from you! Please write to GM’s chairman and chief executive officer, Richard Wagoner, and tell him that his company can only be a true market leader by using hybrid technology to its fullest potential.

2000 campaign video shows McCain hyping time in Vietnam, despite his -- and media's -- false claims to the contrary

Why is the media constantly sucking up to Old and Senile McCain?

CNN's Crowley repeated accusation that Obama "distort[ed]" McCain's "100 years" remark, without reporting what McCain actually said.

More sucking up to old and senile McCain from CNN:

Kelly O'Donnell highlighted McCain's overseas trip "to pump his international image," ignored misstatements, fundraiser.

NBC Today should be ashamed of themselves:

McClatchy "newspapers" reported "McCain listens" to "both sides" of supply-side debate -- but he's also spouted "both sides".

I was expecting more from old media. Should of known better.

Scarborough, Brzezinski advance myth that McCain "stayed with" his immigration position.

Of course, this IS MSNBC though.

And finally we have Michael the Whiner Savage:
Savage: "I would round up every member of the ACLU and of the National Lawyers Guild and I'd put them in a prison in Guantánamo and I'd throw the key away"

I wonder why this right-wing pig is so afraid of the ACLU?
