FYI: WSJ lies, Old and Senile McCain Lies, right-wing lies...

** Media Matters for America **

First up, we have the Wall Street Journal making a total assess of themselves when in their editorial pages have falsely claimed "Senate Intelligence Committee found" that Wilson "had lied" about Niger trip and that his report "produced no information of any intelligence value".

Hell, the only one lying here is the Wall Street Journal and the bastards that sit on their editorial board. Remember, these are the same dinkwads that have pushed the Monkey King Bush upon the right-wing lemmings in their "newspaper" in the 2000 and 2004 elections.

That's right WSJ, take a page out of Faux News and make yourselves less credible then you already are.

You can read it here @ mediamatters.org
http://mediamatters.org/items/200803310005

--

Next up, we have MSNBC talking head Chris Matthews putting on knee pads, licking his lips and really SUCKING up to old and senile McCain in his claims that old and senile McCain "has campaigned brilliantly against" the Monkey King Bush, but not according to old and senile McCain...

Wear the rubber boots when reading this article about the press really sucking it up with the old and senile McCain.
http://mediamatters.org/items/200803310011

--

And in other sucking and kissing ass news, the media are reporting about old and senile McCain's recent efforts to flaunt his so-called military record but not that he told Senator Kerry NOT to do so in the 2004 election.

In reports on Sen. John McCain's recent efforts to highlight his Vietnam War experience as part of his presidential campaign, several media outlets -- including The Washington Post, The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, and USA Today -- have failed to mention that, in 2004, McCain reportedly told then-Democratic presidential nominee Sen. John Kerry (MA) that he should not use his own Vietnam War record during his campaign, or that McCain falsely asserted in 2004 that he "didn't talk about" his own service during his 2000 presidential campaign "because," he said, "I didn't need to."

First off, who the HELL does ths repulsican think he is (besides old and senile) telling Senator Kerry how to run his campaign and then why the hell did Kerry's handlers not address this better?

Secondly, if old and senile McCain didn't need to talk about his military service in 2004, why is it necessary to bring about it now?

Read about it here and YOU decide.
http://mediamatters.org/items/200803310009

--

Finally, we have a story about CBS and their news reporters lacking memory recall.

Ignoring his last presidential campaign, CBS' Higgins claimed McCain "didn't speak about" time as Vietnam POW until now.

I don't know why people are sucking up and kissing old and senile McCain's ass so much but it's getting annoying. Seriously...

Media Matters has documented it here for your reading pleasure.

** Pysicans Committee for Responsible Medicine **
PCRM needs your help to retain two important amendments in the Farm Bill. The first amendment, the Pet Safety and Protection Act, offered by Rep. Mike Doyle and Sen. Daniel Akaka, will prevent unethical animal dealers from stealing cats and dogs to sell them to researchers. The second amendment, offered by Rep. Steve Israel, bars the use of live animals in sales demonstrations of medical devices, as well as raises fines for violations of the Animal Welfare Act.
Despite having passed both the House and Senate, the Pet Safety and Protection Act may still be in jeopardy! The Act would prohibit experimentation facilities from buying dogs and cats from Class B animal dealers. Class B animal dealers, also known as “random source dealers,” often acquire animals through theft and deception and are known to sell lost and stolen cats and dogs to laboratories. As the Senate and House work out other differences between the two versions of the Farm Bill, animal experimenters are pressuring Congress to drop the pet safety provisions altogether.
The Israel Amendment bars the use of live animals in sales demonstrations for the marketing of medical devices for sales purposes. The amendment was offered in response to an incident in which a man artificially created a brain aneurysm in a dog to further his sales pitch for a medical device. This horrific procedure was repeated several times on the dog, who was later killed. The Israel amendment also raises the maximum fine for a violation of the AWA from $2,500 to $10,000.
Send an e-mail to your senators and representative and ask them to support the Akaka/Doyle Amendment and the Israel Amendment in the Farm Bill.

** Public Campaign Action Fund **
There's only one way to end the dependence of congressional and presidential candidates on big money, special interest campaign donors, and that's with comprehensive public financing.
Old and senile Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) has refused as a presidential candidate to support legislation that meets this litmus test of serious campaign finance reform: Clean Elections-style public financing for all federal races. Read about the old and senile Monkey King Wanna-be Here.
We need you to help us hold him accountable. Add your name to our letter urging Old and senile Sen. McCain to get behind real change in Washington.

Right now, governments around the world are using children as frontline soldiers, porters, and spies. The UN estimates that hundreds of thousands of children are actively involved in armed conflicts. A bipartisan bill to curb misguided US military aid to these countries could see movement in the Senate this month, and your action today is critical.
Tell Congress to stop US military support to countries using child soldiers.

** The Wilderness Society **

For those of us who love wilderness, there is no state outside of Alaska more prodigiously blessed with it than Idaho. There are more than nine million acres of wild, untouched forestland in Idaho. But most of it could be opened to energy development, mining, logging, and road construction if the Bush Administration gets its way.
The Administration and the state of Idaho are seeking to change the way more than seven million acres of roadless forests are managed. The change could impact a full 2/3 of Idaho's unprotected wilderness and result in an eight-fold increase in logging on roadless forests.
We can't allow this to happen. Please click here to take immediate action.

Ongoing efforts by the ACLU and its members helped get the House of Representatives to do the right thing and stand up to the administration's fear mongering, including rejecting the Monkey King Bush's unconstitutional spying bill, and, just before Spring recess, passing the FISA Amendments Act -- a far cry from the blank check that the Monkey King Bush demanded so strenuously.
Tell your representative and Speaker Pelosi to stand strong against a spying bill that harms the Constitution.

** National Parks Conservation Association **
Any day now, the Senate could vote on a package of public lands bills that will greatly benefit our national parks and public lands. Some of NPCA's top priorities-- reauthorization of the Park Service's Underground Railroad Network to Freedom Program, the Cesar Chavez Study Act, and the Acadia National Park Improvement Act to name a few--are all in the mix. These bills have strong bi-partisan support, and yet they’ve been held up for more than a year.
Write your Senators and urge them to vote in favor of S. 2739.

In the tomato fields of south Florida, modern-day slavery still thrives. As part of the week of action, students across the country are demanding that Burger King and food industry leaders work with the Coalition of Immokalee Workers (CIW) to improve the wages and conditions for the workers who pick tomatoes and join an industry-wide effort to eliminate human rights abuses from Florida’s fields.

** Sierra Club **

The good news is that thanks to the support of our Sierra Club members and supporters we were able to block a staggering 5,000-acre timber sale in the Giant Sequoia National Monument.
But the bad news is our fight to protect the majestic Giant Sequoias is not over. More than half of the remaining groves — located in Giant Sequoia National Monument — are in jeopardy because, despite being rebuked by the federal courts, the Monkey King Bush Administration is refusing to back off its plan to log this irreplaceable ancient forest. That’s why we are asking you to act now and sign our petition to Forest Service Chief Abigail Kimbell, asking her to implement the strongest possible protections for Giant Sequoia National Monument.

For five decades, the Tibetan people have suffered greatly under China's brutal rule. The Chinese government has swamped Tibet with Chinese settlers, poured money into mega-infrastructure projects like the railway that solidify its control, and ruthlessly attacked Tibetan culture and religion. As the Olympics approach and the world's eyes turn to Beijing, the current outpouring of frustration in Tibet is the natural consequence of China's ongoing repression.
Please take immediate action by sending an e-mail to your congressional representative urging him/her to speak out in support of Tibetans inside Tibet.

** Earth Justice **
Idaho contains more unspoiled wild forest than any state outside Alaska, providing the last intact forest habitat for countless fish, wildlife, and plant species. These areas are enjoyed by hunters, anglers, hikers, and all who treasure the backcountry. Yet the Bush administration is making a play in its last days to hand this natural gem over to its friends in the oil, natural gas, timber, and mining industries by weakening the Roadless Area Conservation Rule protections that currently guard it.
Let the Bush administration know that you are against removing Roadless Rule protections for the forests of Idaho.

** League of Conservation Voters **

The Clean Water Act of 1972 implemented broad federal protections for all our nation's waters. But misguided Supreme Court rulings in 2001 and 2006 opened the door for polluters to contaminate various waters that had previously been protected – putting the drinking water for millions at risk!.
Contact your Members of Congress TODAY to insist that they support the Clean Water Restoration Act.

Bluefin tuna are having a hard time surviving. Once abundant and thriving, the bluefin tuna population declined by 99 percent between 1963 and 2007, bringing this overfished species to the brink of extinction.
In the next few weeks, NMFS will present new annual catch limits and environmental review rules. We need your voice to remind the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) that it’s not just a good idea to set rules that will help fish like bluefin tuna survive, it’s the law.

The Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest is Montana's largest. Within it are nearly 2 million roadless acres - more unprotected roadless lands than any other forest in the state and an irreplaceable part of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.
Without lasting Wilderness protection these landscapes will be overrun by the explosive growth of off-road vehicles that spread noxious weeds, stress wildlife, and wound the landscape with illegal motorized routes. Year after year new illegal routes are carved through the forest. But you can stop this abuse.

** Wake Up Walmart **
On April 5th, the WakeUpWalMart.com campaign will celebrate three years of making Wal-Mart a more responsible company. As you know, it's been a grueling fight for substantive change at Wal-Mart. And, for all of the movement's success, we still have one question for you.
Is Wal-Mart helping you "live better?"

Your tax dollars are still subsidizing Wal-Mart's health care crisis. Your good jobs are still being shipped overseas so Wal-Mart can import over 70% of its goods from communist China. Your neighbors are still earning poverty-level Wal-Mart wages so America's richest family can line their pockets with Wal-Mart's $12 billion in profits.

Are you living better yet?

This year, we can't settle for anything less than real change from Wal-Mart. We know change won't come unless we work together to bring our campaign's message to new audiences in new ways. That's why we're launching the first in a series of new WakeUpWalMart.com videos: "Living Better." Please, do your part and pass it along.

These allies -- members of the Inter-District Assembly for Sovereignty in San Pedro -- have called for a major protest against soy expansion in Paraguay. More than 1,500 campesino and Indigenous people are mobilizing tomorrow outside a Cargill soy silo to defend their land rights and food sovereignty.

In Paraguay, the use of state-sanctioned violence and repression is common in attempting to silence campesino and Indigneous movements. Agribusiness giants, like Cargill, benefit from this practice.
