At the world's largest motorcycle rally, old and senile John McCain angrily accused Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi of skipping out on votes to solve the energy crisis. "Tell 'em to get to work!" he shouted.
This from the man who has skipped more votes than any other senator.
McCain even missed two key votes to repeal Big Oil tax breaks and ramp up solar and wind power—both of which lost by a single vote!

Old and Senile McCain's Gimmick on oil prices

McCain thinks offshore drilling will be the issue that wins him the White House. He has ads up now blaming Barack Obama for high gas prices, and touting drililng as a miracle cure for our energy woes. He is preying on people's anxieties about energy prices -- and it is working. If we don't fight back now, and make sure people know offshore drilling is a gimmick that won't work, we could end up losing the election AND the fight for clean energy.
Support our new ad "Gimmick" -- it tells the truth about offshore drilling, and is a powerful counter to McCain's attacks.

Recently, old and senile McCain's campaign co-chair right-wing pig Phil Gramm had to step down because of controversy over his comment that we were in the middle of a "mental recession." But the the truth is, old and senile McCain himself has repeatedly said our problems are merely "psychological"—Gramm was just more openly condescending about it.
Gramm's gone—but so far, the media's giving old and senile McCain a free pass for saying similar things. So we made a video. It's short, and funny, and it'll help spread the word. Please check it out, then pass it on!

The Monkey King Bush and the oil and gas industry have renewed calls to open up the Arctic Refuge and other protected American lands to drilling. They are suggesting that more drilling will lower gas prices.
Want to know the truth? We are already drilling like crazy without lowering gas prices.
Right now, America contains more operating drilling rigs than the entire rest of the world. Of the 44 million acres currently leased for oil and gas development, more than 30 million acres have not been used by the oil and gas industry.
Let Congress know that you won't fall for the Bush administration's fear tactics.

FOX has really gone over the line this past month--using racism, prejudice, and fear to smear Barack Obama. Each time they apologize--then they do it again.
First, a paid FOX commentator accidentally confused "Obama" with "Osama" and then joked on the air about killing Obama. Next, a FOX anchor said a playful fist pound by Barack and Michelle Obama could be a "terrorist fist jab." And then, FOX called Michelle Obama "Obama's baby mama"--slang used to describe the unmarried mother of a man's child.
FOX won't stop until it becomes too painful to continue--until the public calls them out and advertisers start getting worried. Nearly 100,000 Americans have already expressed their outrage. Can you express yours by adding your name to his message?

The U.S. will spend $192 billion this year in Iraq and Afghanistan alone, on top of regular defense spending. By contrast, the United Nations is helping bring stability to 17 conflict areas around the world—from Sudan to Lebanon to Haiti—all for a budget of less than $8 billion. Despite consistently supporting and voting for these peacekeeping missions at the UN, the U.S. isn’t keeping its promise to UN peacekeepers around the world.
The President’s budget request this year falls more than $600 million short of fully funding UN peacekeeping missions.
The U.S. already began the year $2.8 billion in debt to the UN. A debt of this enormity should not go unnoticed, and, thanks largely to your efforts, it hasn’t. Over 3,000 of you have taken action by sending letters to your members of Congress urging them to fully fund UN peacekeeping and to clear our debts. But we still need your help.

A rugged chain of mountains in the western part of the state, the Wyoming Range is prime habitat for moose, deer and elk. It's a beloved spot for blue-ribbon fishing and other recreation. This place is so special that Wyoming Sen. John Barrasso has introduced legislation to protect it from leasing.
But the Forest Service is considering whether to lease these public lands to oil and gas drilling before Congress can act to protect them. Please take action today and ask the agency to withdraw the proposed leases in the Wyoming Range.

1. John McCain voted against establishing a national holiday in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Now he says his position has "evolved," yet he's continued to oppose key civil rights laws.
2. According to Bloomberg News, McCain is more hawkish than Bush on Iraq, Russia and China. Conservative columnist Pat Buchanan says McCain "will make Cheney look like Gandhi."
3. His reputation is built on his opposition to torture, but McCain voted against a bill to ban waterboarding, and then applauded President Bush for vetoing that ban.
4. McCain opposes a woman's right to choose. He said, "I do not support Roe versus Wade. It should be overturned."
5. The Children's Defense Fund rated McCain as the worst senator in Congress for children. He voted against the children's health care bill last year, then defended Bush's veto of the bill.
6. He's one of the richest people in a Senate filled with millionaires. The Associated Press reports he and his wife own at least eight homes! Yet McCain says the solution to the housing crisis is for people facing foreclosure to get a "second job" and skip their vacations.
7. Many of McCain's fellow Republican senators say he's too reckless to be commander in chief. One Republican senator said: "The thought of his being president sends a cold chill down my spine. He's erratic. He's hotheaded. He loses his temper and he worries me."
8. McCain talks a lot about taking on special interests, but his campaign manager and top advisers are actually lobbyists. The government watchdog group Public Citizen says McCain has 59 lobbyists raising money for his campaign, more than any of the other presidential candidates.
9. McCain has sought closer ties to the extreme religious right in recent years. The pastor McCain calls his "spiritual guide," Rod Parsley, believes America's founding mission is to destroy Islam, which he calls a "false religion." McCain sought the political support of right-wing preacher John Hagee, who believes Hurricane Katrina was God's punishment for gay rights and called the Catholic Church "the Antichrist" and a "false cult."
