FYI for Sept. 16, 2008: Exposing the Lies and Ignorance of the Right-Wing Wackos!

** Media Matters **

Because being ignorant is what they do best, Faux News' ignorant whore Trace Gallagher repeated debunked oil seepage myth.
In fact, a report by the County of Santa Barbara discussing the effects of natural seepage and oil spills, including a 1969 oil spill off the Santa Barbara coast that released an estimated 80,000 to 100,000 barrels of oil, stated that "major spills can have far greater" environmental impact than seeps have, as the blog Think Progress noted. In its report, the Santa Barbara County Planning and Development Energy Division stated that "a comparison of the impacts of seeps and spills based solely on volume would be misleading. The evidence is clear that, far from being invisible against a background of seeps, major spills can have far greater and qualitatively different impacts on the environment than do seeps."

Convicted Felon and right-wing whore G. Gordon Liddy again falsely claimed Obama does not "have a birth certificate to show that he was born in Hawaii".
In fact, as Media Matters for America has repeatedly documented, in addition to posting a copy of Obama's birth certificate on the campaign website, the Obama campaign reportedly provided the original to FactCheck.org, whose staff said in an August 21 article that they "have now seen, touched, examined and photographed the original birth certificate," and concluded that the document does, in fact, exist, and that it "meets all of the requirements from the State Department for proving U.S. citizenship." Further, even right-wing website WorldNetDaily.com reported in an August 23 article that a "WND investigation into Obama's birth certificate utilizing forgery experts also found the document to be authentic."

Ignoring GOP vote for subpoena, AP reported McCain campaign claim that Dems "hijacked" "Troopergate" investigation.
But, despite also reporting in the article that a subpoena "was issued Friday to compel ... cooperation" from Palin's husband, Todd, Johnson did not note that Republican State Sen. Charlie Huggins joined two Democrats on the Alaska Senate Judiciary Committee to authorize the issuance of subpoenas to Todd Palin and 12 other individuals.
