FYI for Sept. 09, 2008: Exposing the Lies and Ignorance of the Right-Wing Wackos!

** Media Matters **
Faux "News" right-wing whore Carl Cameron's claim that bad mother of pregnant 17yr old daughter Sarah Palin didn't ask for earmarks is contradicted by Palin herself.
Palin wrote that in 2008, her administration "requested 31 earmarks, down from 54 in 2007" and that "the federal budget, in its various manifestations, is incredibly important to us, and congressional earmarks are one aspect of this relationship."

Moreover, Palin has repeatedly sought and requested hundreds of millions of dollars in earmarks as governor of Alaska, and according to The Washington Post, she hired a Washington lobbying firm to acquire tens of millions of dollars in earmarks while serving as mayor of Wasilla, Alaska.

Faux News' right-wing whore Bill Hemmer did not challenge GOP strategist's false claim that Obama "has not authored a single piece of legislation".
In fact, Obama has sponsored or been a key co-sponsor of numerous bills, including the "Lugar-Obama nonproliferation initiative" to secure unguarded weapons stockpiles in foreign countries -- which became law in January 2007. Obama was also a lead co-sponsor of the Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act, and Sen. John McCain, a co-sponsor of the bill, thanked Obama for his work on the bill, which became law in September 2006.

Weekly Standard (More like Weakling Standard) editor Bill Kristol again undeterred by prior suggestion that Palin lacked sufficient experience to be VP pick.
In his August 25 Times column, when he was making the case that Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) could be McCain's best choice for running mate, Kristol cited the fact that "Palin has been governor for less than two years" as a possible reason for McCain not to pick her. Additionally, when discussing the possibility of McCain selecting Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty as his running mate in his August 25 column, Kristol asserted: "But with [Democratic vice-presidential nominee Sen. Joe] Biden's foreign policy experience as a contrast, could McCain assure voters that the young Pawlenty is ready to take over, if need be, as commander in chief?"

CBS' Face the Nation host Bob Schieffer didn't ask McCain whether Fred Thompson "denigrate[d]" and "attack[ed]" McCain's military service.
As Media Matters for America noted, on the August 3 edition of Face the Nation, Schieffer alleged that "[Sen. Barack] Obama's people are trying to denigrate the war hero's military service," referring to McCain. Schieffer did not explain which of "Obama's people" he was talking about, but on the July 31 edition of CBS' Early Show, when asked "what is it about John McCain that he [Obama] would attack," Schieffer responded, "Well, I mean, they've already tried this, there's no question about that," adding that "Wesley Clark, who was speaking for Obama, tried to marginalize John McCain's military service" during his June 29 appearance on Face the Nation. Schieffer cited no other examples of the Obama campaign "attack[ing]" McCain.

Rather than noting immigration reversal, NBC News political director Chuck Todd claimed old and senile McCain "is not getting votes that his record deserves" from Hispanics.
During an interview with McCain campaign manager Rick Davis on the September 5 edition of MSNBC's Morning Joe in which Davis touted Sen. John McCain as differing from his party in his support for immigration reform, at no point did NBC News political director Chuck Todd note that McCain reversed himself on a key component of immigration reform, aligning himself more closely with the base of his party.
