Hold Karl Rove in "Inherent Contempt"

It's time for Congress to get serious.

Before they leave for summer recess, the House Judiciary Committee should vote to hold Karl Rove in "inherent contempt" for disobeying a subpoena and refusing to testify.

Tell the Committee and your member of Congress: No one is above the law, not even Karl Rove. Vote for inherent contempt right away to force Rove to testify!

Nanotechnology: Friend or Foe? Ask Congress to find out.

Nanoparticles are showing up in our everyday household items, but no one knows the long-term consequences of this questionable technology on human health and the environment.

The Senate is currently considering a bill to reauthorize the 21st Century Nanotechnology Research and Development Act (S. 3274), and we're asking them to devote more funding to environmental, health and safety research. Contact your Senator now to ask them to put our health and environment before corporate profit.

The U.S. House Judiciary Committee will hold a congressional hearing this Thursday, July 31, on two brand new, important animal protection bills: one to track animal cruelty crimes, and one to stop the slaughter of horses for human consumption. We need your help getting these new bills started with a bang, and building as much congressional support as possible between now and the end of the session.

Please take action and urge your representative to combat animal cruelty and protect horses!

For 15 years, Congress didn't talk about "Don't Ask, Don't Tell."

But the years of silence are over.

Last Wednesday, the Military Personnel Subcommittee of the U.S. House Armed Services Committee met to discuss the repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell." The hearing started what we hope will be an important national conversation about the national security impact of this outrageous law.

Take a look at a clip from the hearing - then send a note to the members of Congress to thank them for holding the hearing:

After more than three years of grassroots pressure from true patriots like you, Congress finally took step 1 towards impeaching George W. Bush for his High Crimes by holding a "non-impeachment hearing" last Friday.

Impeachment Step 2
